Money
Credit Cards are widely accepted throughout the USA and we recommend you take at least one with you. (Car rental companies will require an imprint for security). It is advisable to some money with you in the form of US Dollar Travellers cheques which are accepted as cash in most US outlets. And of course some cash always comes in handy for tolls and tips when you arrive.  

Tips
It is NORMAL practice in the USA to tip for services. The usual level of tip given in bars and restaurants is 10%-15% of the bill and for porters it is $1 per item of luggage

Travel Insurance
It is strongly recommended that you and your party are covered by a comprehensive travel insurance policy for the duration of your holiday in the USA, which should include adequate cover for sickness or injury.

USA Laws
In the USA you have to be 21 years of age or older to buy and consume alcohol, or to gamble. These laws are strictly enforced and it is normal for young people to be asked for proof of identity with a photograph. 

Driving-The minimum age for driving in the USA is 21 years. A driving license from your country of residence is required and must have been held for a minimum of one year.

Heavy penalties are enforced for drink driving offences.   

Non-smoking policies are common place in the USA
